Grand Master Perez

In 1992, Herb Perez achieved his dream. He entered the Olympic arena in Barcelona and won the United States only Gold Medal in the Olympic Sport of Taekwondo.

Through years of sacrifice and training which culminated in the realization of his Olympic dream, Perez learned the value of patience, determination and perseverance. “I was fortunate to wander into a martial arts school at a young age and learn valuable life-skills that taught me how to succeed in academics, sport, and life. I felt a need to share the lessons I had learned throughout my life with others,” states Perez.

Fitness Instructors

Jeannie Cha
Mrs. Cha

Mrs. Cha is the head fitness instructor at Gold Medal. Her passion for physical fitness began to develop after she began her journey as a mother. As a mother of three children, Jeannie understands the “crazy cycle.” She understands how emotional, physical, and psychological exhaustion can lead someone to allow their physical fitness to slip through the cracks, which only leads to even more emotional, physical, and psychological exhaustion, and on and on. Once she decided to end the “crazy cycle” she found that a focus on improving her physical fitness led to improvements in both her emotional and psychological make-up. Once she realized the impact this had in all facets of her life, she wanted to be able to serve others in helping make physical fitness a priority their lives.

Mrs. Cha has been participating in “Kido – The Life Energy Workout” for over three years. She has also been training under Master Herb Perez in Taekwondo and Total Defense for almost four years

Mrs. Cha teaches “Cage Fitness” and “Kido,” and also assists/leads classes in both Taekwondo and “Total Defense.” Her focus is to serve others to build a strong desire to develop and maintain a level of physical fitness that will strengthen all areas of their lives.
